[edit] General notes
This page explains how we deal with your personal data as stored in the database of the Wiki "MYSTlore" (ML), which is being maintained by a team of volunteers that is committed to keeping your information private.
The term "personal data" covers everything you reveal about your identity, such as your real name, your age, e-mail address, etc., and also e-mails sent to the administrators concerning this website.
Data you post in public is explicitly excluded from "personal data". By contributing on ML, you agree and accept that even persons who are not members of ML will be able to read your contributions.
[edit] Usage of your personal data
It is technically inevitable to store your data permanently (unless you explicitly ask us to completely destroy your account) in our server's database. This means that the administration team will have full access to it. However, ML guarantees that administrators will only access this data when we have reason to suspect abuse.
We will not hand or sell your data to a third party or abuse it for private uses. All private data is on a secured server only the administrators have access to.
[edit] Cookies
Cookies are small files on your computer that store information. We use cookies to track your "session" on our pages, i.e. we store information such as your account name and your encrypted password. This is nothing unusual and helps increase efficiency; for instance, less data needs to be transmitted between your computer and ours. The cookies we use don't pose any form of danger, but you retain, of course, the right to deactivate them through your browser. In that case, ML may ask you more often to log back in; a necessary limitation.
[edit] Contributions on ML
Please note that any pages and edits of pages published on ML are accessible worldwide over the internet. Since search engines like "Google" crawl ML irregularly, pages may even be found on them. Note also that, because some search engines cache or archive old versions of pages (for example, the "WayBackMachine"), it is not always safely possible to remove a piece of information. Be aware of this before publicly contributing.
Also, per the license, both members from the Wiki and people outside ML have the right to quote your public contributions made either in part or in their entirety, as long as they properly attribute the posts' origins.
[edit] Statistics
The administrators conduct various kinds of statistics, such as "average contributions per day". However, these statistics do not pose a privacy issue, as they do not relate to any person in specific. It is technically impossible to track back personal information from the statistics.
