This is a general guideline for dictionary entries. So far, only D'ni words are being added.

[edit] Header

At the top of the entry, use {{dictionary-header}}. It has one parameter:

first-letter: The first letter of the word. Since it is D'ni, it might be more than one letter. The letters used by MYSTlore are in the chart in D'ni script.

For example, type {{dictionary-header|first-letter=sh}}.

[edit] Word

Under that, use {{dni-word}}. It has four parameters:

dnifont: The word in Dnifont.
ipa: The pronunciation of the word. Syllables are generally not marked unless it is ambiguous, like in Dictionary:Tsoid. See D'ni script.
ots: The word in the MYSTlore version of OTS. Include any hyphens for affixes.
nts: The word in NTS. Include any hyphens for affixes.

For example, type {{dni-word|dnifont=Sora|ipa=ʃoɾɑ|ots=shorah|nts=šora}}.

[edit] Variants

If there is more than one spelling of the word, use {{dni-variant}}. It goes immediately under {{dni-word}} and it has the same parameters.

Repeat these two sections as needed. Each part of speech gets its own separate definition list. As an example, see Dictionary:Eder.

Type {{adjective}}, {{adverb}}, {{conjunction}}, {{noun}}, {{number}}, {{prefix}}, {{preposition}}, {{pronoun}}, {{suffix}}, or {{verb}}.

[edit] Body of the entry

Type the word again in bold, including the hyphen for affixes. Then list the various meanings in a numbered list. Include the particle "to" for verbs.

[edit] Etymology

If an etymology is known or guessed at, type it in a third-level section (three equals signs) called "Etymology" in this format: {{dict|composite 1}} (meaning 1) + {{dict|composite 2}} (meaning 2). If one of the words is a prefix or suffix, include the hyphen by using {{dict}}, rather than {{dict-}} or {{-dict}}.

Related words go in a bulleted list in a third-level section called "Related words". Words in the main namespace, like gahrternay, can go here too.

[edit] Sources

List any sources in a bulleted list in a third-level section called "Sources". First type the name of the source (which is often abbreviated, like AM for Aitrus's map "From D'ni to the Surface"), followed by a colon, the sentence, and the translation in parenthesized raised text. In an ideally complete dictionary, every word would have a list of every instance of its use, but that is not practical. Try to have at least one source for each different meaning. Link every word to its entry and make the word whose entry it is be in bold.
