Lemashal was a King of D'ni from 3903 DE (3753 BC) until his death in 4083 DE (3573 BC). Before his coronation he had been involved with the Guild of Actors, although his main interest was the art of illusion. In 3961 DE (3695 BC) he established the Guild of Illusionists, which in fact was intended as a distraction from the creation of the Relyimah, a secret intelligence force to monitor the more dangerous factions of the populace.

Under Lemashal there was a period of openness to ahrotahntee cultures. Lemashal even married an outsider, with whom he had two sons, sparking intense debate about whether they should be allowed to be king. Ultimately the Council came to the decision that a king had to be of pure D'ni blood. Lemashal ratified the law in 4031 DE (3625 BC) and when he died left the throne to his cousin's son Ishek.
