Latus
From MYSTlore
This page is written from an OOC point of view. Events and elements surrounding the Myst Universe are regarded as fictional.
Latus was a codename for a project at Cyan Worlds in 2004. Unfortunately, Cyan was unable to find a sorely-needed investor, and instead was forced to close down soon after having finished work on Myst V: End of Ages. After their return, they instead focused on reviving Uru Live; Latus is therefore probably indefinitely on hold.
| “ | One of the things we're looking at is a project called LATUS... Forget Myst, forget interactive environments, forget everything we've learned or known. Let's start with a story and try and communicate it with new, interactive ways. Let's try and still have that story though that can touch people emotionally, that allows us to convey some deeper truths, but let's try it in a completely different way. I don't know if anybody will ever touch LATUS. It's risky and it's not like any kind of interactive entertainment that's ever been done before. You don't spend 10 million dollars to do that if you're a publisher. | „ |
