The karnak is a flying scavenger native to the Age of Haven. They are good swimmers and catch fish by diving into the water from above. In addition to the fish they catch, they also feed from carcasses of animals killed by other predators, particularly the camoudile. The karnak's primary predator was the cerpatee. Once the cerpatee were hunted to extinction by Achenar, the karnak population on Haven grew exponentially.
Achenar struggled with keeping karnaks out of his living areas while he was living in Haven. They are relentlessly curious and brave when traveling in packs. However, they are not particularly intelligent and were easily trapped or locked out by Achenar.
