Eder Delin (eDer Delin[?]) is a garden age, and an age of rest, much like the ages of Eder Kemo, Eder Gira, and Eder Tsogal. The age has a naturally autumnal feel, though weather conditions can quickly change, leaving the age covered in a fine coating of snow. Not much is known about the history of Eder Delin or where it got its name. It was the first new Age released by the new DRC and placed in some of the neighborhoods for explorers to explore. In mid-May 2007 (Leefo 9663), all of the Eder Delin books were mysteriously removed from the neighborhoods and replaced with Eder Tsogal books. Many explorers attributed the removal to direct Bahro intervention, which the DRC has neither conformed nor denied. The Delin books started to reappear in the neighborhoods by the end of the month.

[edit] D'ni History

D'ni structures
D'ni structures

Possibly written during the reign of King Shomat between 300 DE (7356 BC) and 555 DE (7101 BC) as an expansion to his recently built palace[1], or during so-called D'ni garden binge of the 8100s DE (445 AD). Tsogal offered the D'ni a change of environment from the Cavern and enabled the D'ni to walk around in a dense forest and enjoy the plants and sounds and seasons they didn't have back in D'ni. It is unknown what areas of this Age the D'ni would have visited, if any, outside the small canyon the new explorers visit. Traces of the D'ni are seen in the form of several small stone platforms and a small terrace, several resting spots have been built around the valley and there's a lot of lanterns with bright blue firemarbles lighting the paved paths. All D'ni structures on this Age are similar in design to the structures on Eder Kemo, with small differences like the color of the wood in the structures, the light from the firemarbles and the patterns on the floors of the platforms.

[edit] DRC History

Not much is known about where the DRC found this book in the cavern and what has been done to explore the Age and ensure its safety to explorers. It was the fist new Age to have been released by the new DRC after their return to cavern-restoration.

[edit] Bahro (Journey) History

Bahro door
Bahro door

The Age of Eder Delin contains one half of the first new journey for explorers to complete since the path of the shell. Hidden across the small age are 7 journey cloths, illustrated with a new symbol and linked to a new type of Bahro door. This new type of bahro door reacts to the journey cloths in a unique way, forcing explorers to recruit the aid of fellow explorers in attempting to open it. The Bahro door in this age (when opened) links to a new Bahro cave located in a kind of star fissure and containing a symbol on the wall and a rotating stone ring above the gap, half of which can be taken to the explorer's Relto to indicate the completion of one half of the 2nd journey (the other half being in Eder Tsogal).

[edit] Geography

Eder Delin landscape
Eder Delin landscape

The floor and walls of the small canyon accessible in this age consist of a rough grey type of rock. One of the more noticeable features of the landscape is the curious way in which the canyon walls are curved and shaped to form strange appendages and arches, similar to but seemingly more extreme than the walls of Eder Kemo. The Age seems to be situated in a dense forest of huge trees (the smaller of which can be seen standing in the canyon bearing red leaves, there seem to be much larger trees seeing as how the entire sky is filled with a cover of orange leaves) and smaller plant life. The sky on this age cannot be seen through the leaves and the strange orange-reddish fog in the air but there seems to be no day-night cycle visible as time passes. Not much else is known of the world outside the small valley other than that the forest seems to go on for quite a bit and that a lot of rocky spires are seen disappearing into the distant fog. Another strange phenomenon in this Age is the sudden change from an autumn-like climate to a snow-covered winter state that explorers experienced in the Age.

[edit] Flora

The flora consists mainly of perennials and ferns. The small valley where the explorer can walk is covered in some kind of ivy, and lots of other plants scattered about. The top of the canyon wall is mostly covered in brownish bushes.

[edit] Fauna

No animals have been sighted in this age up to this moment. But in its autumnal phase one can hear the constant noise of various creatures, most prominently birds and crickets but also vague sounds of something like toads or frogs in the distance. In the snowy version of the Age one can hear two distinct new types of bird, one sounding like a goose and the other more like a crow.

[edit] Connections with other Ages

Bahro cloth
Bahro cloth

Like Eder Kemo, Eder Tsogal, and Eder Gira, this Age was meant as a Garden Age and possibly written during the Garden Binge of the 8100s DE (445 AD). Eder Delin is accessible through several of the neighborhoods in the D'ni cavern.
