[edit] Early life

Ahlsendar was born during the outbreak of the Pento War. According to rumor Ahlsendar was born beneath the Arch of Kings as his mother fled the Pento. He was raised on a private Age. In 1352 DE (6304 BC) after his father Koreen was killed by the Pento, Ahlsendar entered D'ni, passing under the Arch of Kings as had been prophesied, and retook the palace. He began negotiations with Mekarr, leader of the Pento faction that no longer wanted to fight for the Judges of Yahvo, and promised to write a new Age for the Pento. In the Battle of the Great King in 1376 DE (6280 BC) Mekarr's brother Timaue was defeated and the war ended. The remaining Judges of Yahvo were found and sent to Prison Ages shortly afterwards and the link to Pento remained open. Ahlsendar, acclaimed the Great King by all D'ni, was crowned a few weeks later.

[edit] Reign

Ahlsendar wrote many books of prophecies during his reign. He believed that the D'ni people had strayed from concentrating on Yahvo. He taught that they needed to forget their past home, Garternay, and strive to learn of and please Yahvo. However despite that he didn't have much respect for his official prophetess adviser, Nemiya, often calling her foolish and childish. As a result she was relegated to the role of a figurehead. There were also rumors that not only could Ahlsendar link without the aid of a book, but he could link to different places within the same Age. However none of the rumors were ever verified.

One of Ahlsendar's more controversial acts was his work on a biological plague with the Guild of Healers and Guild of Writers, in case a situation like the Pento War ever arose again.

Unfortunately in 1466 DE (6190 BC) Ahlsendar's wife and children were murdered by Mekarr. Ahlsendar killed Mekarr himself then ordered that the plague was to be released into Pento. The entire population of Pento died within three days but some Pento linked to other Ages and the plague began to take effects there as well.

[edit] Decline

The D'ni people originally blamed the Pento for the plague, and the books which linked to Ages to which they had access were to be collected and destroyed. However, 1500 DE (6156 BC), Ahlsendar announced his own involvement in the plague.

After making his announcement, he gathered the books that linked to infected Ages as well as those that were connected with D'ni's past. In 1501 DE (6155 BC) he locked himself and the books in the Temple of the Great King, leaving the throne of D'ni to his temporary successor Solath. Six months later Solath announced that, in accordance with his final wishes Ahlsendar was to be considered dead and Solath became King.

[edit] Prophecies

According to Catherine, Ahlsendar knew of the coming fall of D'ni and the greater fall of Terahnee that would follow it.
